CLEANING A RUSTY PETROL TANK WITH BLEACH
Damn, never thought a wing could sound this badass. More and more thinking about one of their systems for my CB900F
I must admit I was impressed. The goldwing was so quiet before. Now traffic is aware lol
@@CultofRust You've joined the ranks of the 'loud pipes saves lives' gang. And in traffic that works...
@@b12kult definitely woke a few up. Well worth the investment
@@CultofRust it's all things considered a small investment
Enjoyed that I was searching dr125 because we have bought 9 bikes all tatty and non running but the dr is the one we like at the moment When you said at the beginning it was siezed I thought got to watch this as ours has no compression
Thanks. Hope you get it sorted...
Old school armorer’s trick. 👍🏻👍🏻 works real good with a good ol fashion c cell mag light. And a piece of bike inner tube to hold both together. Get yourself some white duct tape put a strip on the wall and chalk line it one time with a plumb. Or yard stick line whatever. Stays on wall forever.
Cheers
How come your hangers are so far forward ?
Because with them upright the bike hit the roof of the workshop when on the lift
That wing sounds real throaty.
Really was.. Audio doesn't do it justice....people know I'm there now lol.
🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thanks dude
Can't wait to see this at the Mile.
One week to go❤❤
AAAAAAAHHHHHH ..... WTF ..... why didn't I think of this. You the master dude! You king of scopes😁
Replaced mines which were seized. I just grabbed them with grips and twisted them out. Took a fare amount of twisting but got them out though but this way looks a bitter on the wrists.
It was definitely less work than grips... thanks for watching
Just had the rear crash bars on my GL1500 re-chromed. Had a local electroplating company (Derby Plating) carry out this work. The new chrome finish is superb and puts the rest of the chrome parts on the bike to shame. I wasn’t expecting the price tag that goes along with stripping and re chroming old parts. The Platers are adding an energy surcharge to the quoted prices. I can fully understand this as the plating process is rather power hungry. I was going to have a few more items re-chromed but unfortunately it’s just too expensive to justify this on a 24 year old Honda GL1500.
I completely understand what you're saying...unfortunately goldwimgs have a lot of chrome too. Thankyou for watching and commenting. Enjoy your bike
I have a couple of Goldwings (GL1100 & GL1500) the pipes on the 1100 are the original Honda items and in really nice condition. I’m trying to keep them like that as I prefer to keep the bike looking as it left the Honda factory back in 1982. Currently I’m doing some work on my 1500 (2000 year, SE model) and have removed both of the silencers, and I’m very tempted to start the bike up and listen to how it sounds. I will be replacing the silencers it’s some NOS items that David Silver Spares had on offer. The original ones had lots of surface rust and generally looked very tired. The new ones look fantastic - looking forward to fitting them and taking the bike out on the road.
The ones on it were quite good condition tbh but the bike was very quiet which meant I was getting a lot of drivers "not see me" so now they know I'm there. Definitely run without the cans on....just for fun. Neighbours will love you. Thanks for watching.
Great job... nice Seeing you today..!
And you buddy. Always a pleasure
Where the part where it starts mate built mine off your videos but it won't start
It starts in this video bud. Hope you get your issues sorted. Enjoy your bike
Brilliant! Guess I’ll be testing my rifles later this week, hmmm! 🤔
Hope it works well for you
Hope it works well for you
Nice man, I've just got one - hoping to get it on the road soon, make it the 27th on UK roads lol. Any idea what the jet sizes are? Stock, or for aftermarket exhaust.(125)
Jet sizes are main 96, pilot 38 as stock. Jet needle 3rd notch mixture 1 turn.....according to manual....for stock setup. Thanks for watching
@CultofRust cheers man - just got it through mot, might try a 100 main jet to try and stop my popping on decel and bogging when warm 🤔
@@alexwood7678 awesome. Enjoy
I WELL wanna rip this🤣
Cheers man
DirtChop FTW🤙🤙🤙
Gonna be fun
Lexmoto vixen exhausts would work for your twin exhaust setup
Thanks. It's all so hard to find tho...I'll keep searching
terrible camera work makes me dizzy
Yeah you're right...hopefully I've got better. Thanks for watching
🤯
Also I have found CMSL and there exploded diagrams essential for seeking part numbers and checking cross compatibility between old Honda’s.
I recently found them too great page. Thanks for your help bud
Mate, you need to get Larry Cargill’s carb book. For CX/GL500s but the carbs are the same.
Cheers man I'll have a look
Try a bit of Pink stuff keep it wet and soak it for an hour or two then autosol .i have had some success using this and it dosent scratch the chrome
Thankyou I will that. Thanks for watching
Bro, proxl do a really really good reusable rust remover!
Cheers man. I will look into it
Is it the Camera lens or are the Front Forks slightly bent?
It's probably the camera settings...Still figuring out new gopro. Forks are fine. Thanks for watching
Informative and entertaining at the same time, great, keep up the good work.
Thankyou so much
Fuck yeah!!!
Love the light 🔺and the noise! Good looking bike.
You should of put the level on the action NOT the Woodwork Dude ?
I fitted a Motad to my GL1200...the way to make a louder but Mellow Drone from the Tail Pipes was to Extend them the sound is good now and heard by other Traffic .....but not at nuisance levels Resonance works better than just high Volume good Video thank you .
Thanks for watching
I have the opposite problem. Old torch has 2 wires, new one has 1 wire
Outstanding!!! Mind blown how simple and how genius this is. Thank you!
Thankyou. Glad it helps
Very good. never seen it done that way before. be the perfect way to tune you scope bubble I will diffidently try it. Thank you
Thankyou
Can you wash it with domestos?
I honestly don't know sorry

Clever👍👍😄😄
i think im going to need a proper gun vice
Hey man, ive been watching your videos with the jinlun JL 125-11 to see if you had anything in there about the timing as i think mine is out, when i rev the bike they climb really slow and if i ride the bike i cant get above 30mph even in third gear. Any advice on what i need to do to fix the issue would be much appreciated
Have you made any changes like pod filters to the system?
@@CultofRust no, the bike is all standard. The only thing that has been changed is the gasket
I've had a Jinlun for a while now but only recently had the gasket replaced, im not sure if the issue I've currently got is a timing issue and if it is how do i set the timing? The issue im having is my revs are climbing really slow, and I can't go above 30mph even in 3rd gear
Brilliant 👍
Your face without the cans 😂😂😂
It's amazing
That’s toilet bowl cleaner, curved top, which uses a very mild acid.
Plumb line to expensive just a bolt with some of nans wool😂
Hey if it works dude....gravity is still free lol
@CultofRust agreed ha 😆 🤣
WARNING: Asssuming that I looked up the right datasheet then this product is NOT bleach, but actually HCL acid-based (and that makes sense that it would help remove rust). Bleach on the other hand is a strong oxidizer, and it will heavily speed up oxidation (rusting) on all metals because it releases a lot of oxygen as it reacts. Putting actual bleach (sodium hypoclorite) on a metal part like this would probably be a disaster. I had to look it up because these results made no sense if it was bleach. I assume the author was just confused by the labeling and didn't have malicious intent.
Thankyou for your advice. I didn't mean to mislead anyone with this video and the product. This product was sold to me as bleach and I was truly ignorant until your post. Definitely no malicious intent on my part. Thankyou for leaving advice and not abuse.
@@CultofRust No problem. Everyone makes mistakes. Any bleach based product will have sodium hypochlorite on the ingredients label if in doubt. Most acids will help dissolve rust, and you can probably find a much better source for acid than this stuff which is fairly dilute. Products for de-calcifying concrete (building/home improvement) are often sold in bulk 5L for cheap and usually contain hydrochloric or phosphoric acid. Just check the ingredients label. Cleaning vinegar is also good and cheap, and citric acid may be found in reasonable quantitites as concentrated powder in food stores and supermarkets are it's used for pickling. After any acid rust removal you should neutralize the acid with a base (a little baking soda in water), dry off, and then either paint or oil as soon as possible. Otherwise it will "flash rust" and start to show visible surface rust again in as little as a few hours (depending on humidity). Any acid left on the surface makes the flash rusting happen even faster - so that's why neutralizing is important - or at least a very thorough rinse.
I am glad you tried bleach. I would never recommend bleach with steel. Bleach causes steel to rust. Soap and water might be as effective, don’t know. To get rid of rust you need an acid like vinegar or muriatic acid. Either way you have to neutralize your chemicals afterwards.
I looked up the datasheet for the product, and it's HCL acid based, not bleach. That makes a lot more sense with the results. The video title should really be changed to avoid people trying to replicate this with actual bleach.
Thankyou for drawing my attention to this. I was honestly unaware of differences till you pointed this out. Thankyou for your advice.
Sounds better than I expected it to. Very nice
What did you all do to make it sound like that?
Hi I will be uploading a full video of the modified project. Please like and subscribe. Thanks for watching
Man, thanks so much for this video. I have the same single black wire setup as you. I bought my new torch from Yes Welder which had 2 wires in a connector. My old welder is a Due Mig made in Italy. No one from Yes Welder tech support knows what to do to hook their whip to a single wire setup. If you wouldn't mind telling me where the white wire with the spade connection that you attached the pink wire to is attached on the other end, that would be great. I wonder if it is on the wire speed dial. Also does it matter which of the two wires attach to the places that you put them? Once again, thank you for making the video. Orvall
Thankyou for watching. I believe the wire went to speed control but I have since sold this unit and purchased a new one so I'm unable to check.
Wow, thanks for getting back to me. I figured it out, trial and error with your video. Great chatting with you. Cheers my friend.
@@orvallhall324 that's awesome. Sorry it took me so long. Enjoy and be safe
Great video, I had the same problem but on my speedo side, unfortunately after a few times of adding graphite it started wearing out the speedo cable almost monthly. I had to get a replacement gauge.
Thankyou for watching. I'm hoping this lasts...its been good for about 250 miles so far.... fingers crossed
I ay even got a first stage on mine so i will be drying this out. Thanks
Hope this helps. Thankyou
